Come Back to Panama With Me

Updated: Sep 27, 2022

Last month we spent 2 weeks in the incredibly biodiverse country of Panama! We explored a beautiful range of sites from the huge metropolitan city to remote islands where only a handful of indigenous people live. The historic district of Panama city was a gorgeous area to shop and enjoy a meal. Many of the historic 19th century mansions have been restored to their original splendor and I never tired of walking the district, admiring their facades. Just 90 minutes down the Pacific Coast from the city we surfed on beautiful black and white sand beaches. A quick drive inland brought us to the gorgeous Anton Valley, formed in the crater of an extinct volcano. Here we hiked in a lush, waterfall frequented rainforest, relaxed in thermal pools and learned how to identify venomous snakes from constrictors at the serpentarium. But, the highlight of our trip was sailing in the San Blas Islands. This collection of 365 sandy islands in the Caribbean is owned and governed by the indigenous Guna people. It was fascinating to learn about their culture while exploring a few of their islands that can only be described as paradise. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves!

Two weeks wasn’t enough time to enjoy all the gorgeous Panamanian destinations. Luckily, I’m going back in October to what many locals consider THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AREA IN PANAMA and you are invited to join me! Unprompted, our walking tour guide in Panama City touted Cambutal (the town where my yoga retreat will take place) as his number 1 hidden gem in Panama, and it was clear that other Panamanians held equal admiration for this area and the luxurious Sansara Yoga and Surf Resort itself.

At my REVITALIZE yoga retreat, we get to spend a week on this exposed coastline where lush mountains meet pristine (usually deserted) beaches. The area is sparsely populated, full of wildlife and I am excited to play in rivers, waterfalls and the turquoise ocean and explore the natural cave structures, hidden beaches and tide pools that the rocky shore has to offer. Of course, this is all made better by the incredible group I’ll be traveling with. There is something priceless about practicing yoga and meditation in a group and bonding over a great meal or a pina colada by the pool. I really hope you can join me!
